A hiring manager might look to you like the barrier between your success and you, but that is not true. The poor dude is just following orders: he cannot hire anyone who does not have a degree. In that case, you are the person who is standing in your own way. Even adults go to school, why shouldn’t you?

Some firms never even look at candidates that do not hold a college degree. Even if you’ve been job hunting for ages, you might still have to get some… say, adult education if you are thinking about bettering your chances as a job seeker. It is something you want to do, isn’t it. This might be hard to swallow, but it’s good to hear. Adult education helped out during the Great Depression of the ‘30s. Education projects were established back then as work-relief programs that included the teaching and training of adults. It made it possible to earn and work when there were no other means.

Some job descriptions are mean and straight. They make it quite clear that you are not going to be getting them if you are not qualified on paper. People like to take the trouble to go studying for the better credits. You could too, age notwithstanding.

There are a million and one job opportunities – new ones – that could suddenly come your way if you went back to school to do some more studying. There are indeed programs specifically meant for adults; several of them, in fact. And the jobs you can get with a better education are quite a lot. There were some institutions in the early ‘90s that were devoted almost entirely to education for adults. The G.I. Bill of Rights that was passed shortly after the second Big One as a matter of fact fueled the genre so that a lot of old soldiers were able to secure qualifications enabling them to get jobs. Improve your education today and you are sure of improving your lot in life. That’s an indisputable fact!

Plenty of jobs could be waiting for you after your adult education; all that counts is that you have the little extra it takes to sit through the program. Many adults don’t, because some of the conditions may not be favorable to them. You could be the one person that is different.
